Thomas Singer, Esq
Bio.
Thomas Singer is a Florida-licensed attorney with more than 14 years of litigation experience and a proven track record of leadership in the legal field. Since joining Louis Law Group in July 2025, he has focused on plaintiff property damage litigation, representing homeowners and businesses in high-stakes cases involving catastrophic storm damage, mold contamination, and complex insurance disputes. His practice is devoted to helping clients recover fully after events like Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, where losses often extend far beyond what is visible.
Thomas’s work frequently involves guiding clients through the entire insurance claim process, from the initial filing to courtroom litigation. He has extensive experience advocating for policyholders whose claims have been wrongfully delayed, underpaid, or denied. Whether a case concerns structural damage, water intrusion, or hazardous black mold, Thomas understands the importance of detailed mold inspection and timely mold remediation. By collaborating with trusted experts, he ensures that both visible and hidden damage is thoroughly documented, strengthening his clients’ position in negotiations or trial.
Before joining Louis Law Group, Thomas spent more than a decade with Cardenas, Singer & Associates, a boutique Miami law firm where he rose from legal intern to managing partner. He began as a law clerk in 2011, became an associate attorney after being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2012, was promoted to senior associate attorney in 2016, and became a partner in 2018. Following the passing of founding partner Gladys A. Cardenas in 2019, Thomas took over as managing partner, leading the firm’s operations and overseeing its litigation practice.
In his leadership role, Thomas managed a team of seven attorneys and more than 20 support staff, handling over 700 active litigation matters at any given time. His responsibilities included supervising case strategy, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring the firm maintained its reputation for strong client advocacy. At the trial level, he handled all aspects of civil litigation in both state and select federal courts—taking and defending depositions of expert and lay witnesses, preparing clients for testimony, drafting and arguing motions, and representing clients at mediations and hearings.
Thomas’s litigation background is particularly valuable in plaintiff property damage litigation, where cases often require strategic planning, thorough fact development, and persuasive courtroom advocacy. He understands how to build compelling arguments that address both the immediate and long-term impact of property loss, including hidden damages like black mold growth following water intrusion from hurricanes. His skill in presenting evidence and cross-examining witnesses makes him a formidable advocate for policyholders seeking full and fair compensation.
Education has played a central role in shaping Thomas’s professional path. He earned his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in December 2011, where he developed a strong foundation in trial advocacy. Before law school, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2009. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, as well as the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
Thomas’s approach to law is client-centered and results-driven. He knows that for many clients, an insurance claim is not just a legal matter—it is about restoring a home, a business, and a sense of stability. When a denied claim threatens that recovery, Thomas is relentless in pursuing a resolution, whether through skillful negotiation or aggressive litigation. He values clear communication, ensuring his clients understand their rights, their options, and the steps being taken on their behalf.
Outside of his legal career, Thomas remains deeply committed to mentorship, having spent years guiding young attorneys and support staff in developing their litigation skills. His leadership philosophy emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and unwavering dedication to client service.
For those facing the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Hurricane Milton, or other major property losses, Thomas offers a combination of trial-tested litigation skills, deep knowledge of insurance disputes, and a commitment to seeing every case through to the best possible outcome. From coordinating mold inspection and remediation to challenging a denied claim in court, he provides the experience, tenacity, and strategic insight needed to protect what matters most.
